Exclusive Pack Walks
Join our exclusive dog training pack walks in Toluca Lake, Burbank and Griffith Park. Included in the Obedience Class training package and only $51 per month for joining separately.
Being a part of a community is as critical as teaching your dog social skills so these have been incorporated into the 6 Week Dog Obedience Classes for puppies and dogs of all ages. In society we have people of all ages and kinds and so the same goes for our best friends. Both dogs and humans need to learn to be comfortable around each other and these dog training pack walks help to accomplish that.
How you harmonize with people makes a big difference in making a better society. ☀️
These dog training pack walks are held in Toluca Lake, City of Burbank and sometimes on the weekends in Griffith Park. We walk through the neighborhood and onto Riverside Drive where there is traffic, restaurants, people and an occasional dog. This exposure is wonderful and helps stimulate a dog just enough to allow them to regulate the stress to become more balanced throughout their brain and nervous system.
Every dog is excited upon arrival so everyone is at a 4-6’ distance to ensure safety. Being on-leash can sometimes create tension so we allow all dogs to have space and settle down with their owners. Once everyone arrives we begin the walk. We always start on time so make sure to come a few minutes early. As people arrive with their best friends, Adelita organizes the dogs along the sidewalk so that each dog is next to dogs that are comfortable next to each other. Occasionally she will switch out a dog to give it an opportunity to lead and/or be in the middle to help it feel a part of the group if it was at the end. It’s like a little “Leap Frog” routine and everyone understands the importance of giving all dogs attending a chance to participate.
It is the responsibility of the owners to ensure the safety of their dog throughout the duration of the walk. This includes minding their dog when someone else is on the sidewalk approaching. The whole class knows to move to the park strip to allow them to pass. Sometimes the class stop for a dog that needs to eliminate and everyone is considerate and understanding. That’s yet another benefit of coming to the dog pack walks because we have them at a time you would be getting off work and giving your dog it’s nightly walk anyway.
Feedback from attendees include that they really enjoy being a part of the community, doing something fun with their dog and like-minded people. Giving them the exposure and helping them neutralize a kind of stress that sometimes builds inside both humans and dogs. And, that this is something everyone looks forward to doing on Tuesday and Thursday nights (currently).
Having something to look forward to is rewarding yourself and your dog which is really important to building a strong heart and mind as a human being. ☀️
The Dog Training Pack walks include getting guidance from Adelita on leash management as we all as working on Sit when we are at corners waiting for the lights and traffic. It is a big group and so everyone is attentive as to what is being asked of to do along the walk which normally takes about 30-40 minutes.
Again, this is a free addition to the Dog Obedience Classes and for those who have completed this class it is available to continue for only $51 per month.
This class is not for aggressive or highly reactive dogs but if you need help with your dog and it does have these behavioral issues you can reach out to Adelita for help by filling out the contact form here on the website and giving the details of your situation.
