Testimonials

"I had interviewed about 30 dog sitters, handlers, trainers and none compared to Adelita.  Right from the start, having never seen her work with any dogs prior, I could see she was the one I was looking for.  My Mastiff, Blue, treated her with respect and was very calm and willing around her. She is responsible and I am so lucky to have found her."

"I hired Adelita because I saw results coming through my door routinely and I knew she was competent enough to help get my dog trained.

She is a very honest and caring person and I know she will be of help to many dog owners who need obedience training whether puppy or adult dog - she can do it.

I recommend her to all of my clients who need obedience training."

"Our dogs were like pack animals before Adelita trained them.  Because we had multiple dogs it was hard to distiguish from where the trouble was coming from.   Adelita got to the bottom of that and we recommend her to anyone.  She is great!

Sincerely,
The McCluggage Family"

"After the two week training program, I received so many compliments from friends and neighbors on how well behaved my dog Luna had become in such a short time.

This program not only improved my Luna's behavior, but taught me so many important things about training, continuously improving, and maintaining this good behavior for a lifetime."

"We would like to recommend Adelita. We have a Soft coated Wheaten Terrier who was already puppy trained in the local park but showed aggression towards some dogs - that's when I hired Adelita  - a very good dog trainer.  She was very professional-kind-knowledgeable-punctual and my kids (2 boys 12 and 16 years old) loved working with her and my puppy Cinnamon loved her too.
I highly recommend her.

We always marveled whenever we saw that “special” dog without a leash who would always stay at the owner’s side or inside its yard. No amount of distraction, whether kids or other animals, ever seemed to bother such dogs. We assumed it was all genetic or a character trait of the breed, never thinking for a moment that, like kids, dogs could be trained to behave well!

That all changed after we met Adelita following our adoption of Yuki, a Samoyed pup. Although we had previously owned a Golden, this was our first puppy, and after a few weeks with Yuki, we knew we needed help. As sweet a dog as she was, Adelita quickly determined that we were being “owned” by Yuki, and we signed up for a two week training program.

Adelita made a deep impression, on both Yuki and her human family, from the very first lesson. Having followed her training and guidance, Yuki is now a different dog, the very “special” type of dog we always admired and longed for. We’ll be able to enjoy Yuki’s company much more now for many years to come thanks to Adelita’s training.

"Your care towards Maggie was more than we ever could have anticipated. Compassionate, thorough, dedicated. You brought her back to life."

"I met Adelita while walking my Staffordshire Bull Terrier down the street.  Actually, he was walking me.  She was training another dog and I could see that she was demonstrably capable of creating a calm and managable dog.
Adelita seemed to instinctively know what to do to put Jack into his place.  She was calm but firm in training him and I will soon be having her train him to willingly run along side my horse while I ride.

She is a bundle of fun to work with.

Regards,
The Kaufman Family"

"I met Adelita a couple of months ago while on my route.  I told her that I was concerned about the dogs I would meet while working my postal route.   Others had told me to use cruel methods to handling the dogs but the things that Adelita taught me, positive reinforcement, about what to say and do, helped my relationship with other dogs.    As a result they are more friendly to me."

"Our dog Lily doesn't beg at the table - she eats at her own dish. She knows her boundaries. I love that. The training my kids and all members of the family received was successful. It helped in getting control of Lily - getting her to do what was expected. Adelita made it possible in making our relationship with Lily a success and all the while keeping Lily enthusiastic and in great spirit!"

"Adelita is a great trainer.  She trained my then 5 month old German Sheperd (Taz) with on/off leash training.  Taz not only walks on a leash but off as well, and obeys all the basic commands i.e. sit/come/down and stay.  I am very well please with her assistance.

I have a newly purchased Rottweiller puppy, and I believe Adelita is getting ready to meet him as well.   I highly recommend her services.

"Adelita was recommended to me last year by the owner of the cageless camp where I send my mastiff for ranch fun when I need to be out of town.  I was having trouble with my 2 yr old male - he is a rescue that I adopted at about 1-1/2 years old.  He was great in the house and was OK on leash, but definitely had the alpha thing going when off-leash - he didn't listen to me whether I was telling him to come, to not to eat picnic trash or to come when he was getting too close to an unfriendly dog.

Adelita was a great help working with me and my dog to get back to basics and to establish an owner/alpha stance with him.  We spent 10 days with Adelita training me and training him this spring so that I am now blessed with a big alpha dog who runs off-leash amongst dogs, cats, kids, horses etc. and listens when he needs to.

He is off-leash on 90% of his walks and listens to my whispered "stay here", "OK say Hi" etc.  Adelita has definitely helped me gain control over my big dog who is a delight but who didn't want to listen and now does. There is no place i wouldn't take my big boy - city streets, park trails ... and I owe alot of it to Adelita.

"I know my Chinese Cresteds were quite a challenge for Adelita because they both had such diverse personalities - totally different to one another.  I was very happy with the results that she got.  She not only trained my dogs but also took the time to train me as well so that I could maintain what she had instilled into them.  She is an amazing trainer and has a genuine personality herself which she imbues into the dogs.  She truly cares about her work.

She is highly recommended.

"I saw the signs and knew something was coming.  Our Scottie was showing signs of aggression and eventually my smallest daughter ended up getting hurt. I found Adelita at Good Dog K9 Training and she was able to help me through her nutritional and behavioral methods to get my dog back to the friendly boy he used to be. This is a two week program for not just my dog but my entire family as well.

She made it fun while at the same time holding a very good standard for all of us learn and follow.

I highly recommend her to anyone in need of basic obedience and of course agression problems.

Don't wait for something to happen.

Sincerely, Judy, Kids and Scooter"

"We have a 1 year old crazy Rottweiler named Gianna. We called Adelita
Alvarez for training. On her first day, Gianna just about attacked
Adelita, but Adelita was in control from the start and by the end
of the day, Gianna became friends with her. During the six weeks of
training, Adelita worked with our dog to socialize her with other
dogs and children. She worked on basic commands such as heal, sit,
stay, and "go to your place" in which Gianna would lie down and stay
on her bed.

Adelita had the whole family play all kind of games in front of Gianna
to distract her, and she became very good at staying where she belonged.

As well as teaching our family how to interact and "parent" our dog,
she involved outsiders while walking in the park and sitting at a coffee
shop.

Adelita has a welcoming approach to all people, and is not afraid to use
every tool she sees as an opportunity to teach and train. Adelita has a
genuine love for dogs and animals and it shows through her training.

We would highly recommend Adelita for dog training to anyone with a
"hopeless" crazy dog, or even a well behaved one, that just wants
the basics.

Sincerely,
The Bure Family"

"Adelita stands out because she tells it like it is. She didn't sugar coat it. She told the truth and the dogs are wonderful because of her. They're not the same dogs - especially the Jack Russell. I now have three very manageable dogs. She is the best - the dogs love her and I love her."

"I recommend Adelita Alvarez.  I contacted Adelita to help me with an Akita/Sherpherd mix and another dog I have.  The Akita/Shepherd (Shay) can be a little scary at times.  She is very large.   Adelita had no backoff and immediately went to work to establish a relationship with Shay.  Tasha my 60 lb dog tends to instigate and cause Shay to react.  No problem there.  Adelita had it all under control.  My dogs are 8 years old.  I did use a trainer when they were about 1 year old for myself.

Since then I had hired an assistant who would take them out for walks daily and they would just control her.  So this is why I contacted Adelita to solve this problem.

My assistant and my 2 dogs learned a lot and everything is wonderful now.  I even learned some new things and my relationship with my dogs is even stronger because of it.

"I called Adelita to help me because my dogs were driving me crazy.  Not having the knowlege to correct them I knew that having a dog trainer would be the best thing to do.

When I saw a picture advertizing services (the one with the three dogs and herself) I figured if she could train those dogs, she could train my 6-8 month old Golden Retriever and Husky.

Now that the training is finished, with the dogs and the entire family, I know I definitely made the right decision by hiring Adelita.  I definitely recommend her.

We'll be missing her because she was a joy to have around.

Sincerely,
The Guillen Family"

"Adelita Alvarez definitely has the gift of interacting with animals.  I was so overwhelmed when I brought my new puppy into our home.  I was having so many problems and in just one session with Adelita, I saw amazing results and changes.  I kid you not when I say that my Malamute's behvaior improved after just one initial meeting with Adelita.  She has an honest and clear approach and way of communicating with animals and to people.  She even trained my husband and I to be able to carry out the training long after the sessions were over.  Since working with Adelita, I have become very involved in animal rescue and I continue to use her tips and techniques and still find they are amazingly useful.  I will forever be thankful to Good Dog K9 Training for giving me the gift of understanding my Malamute, Osa. "Dear Adelita,

My wife and I would like to thank you for the wonderful work that you did with our two Labrador Retriever puppies, Penny and Polly.  We are grateful for all you have done for us and I'm sure that Penny and Polly thank you also.

Having you come to the house and see first hand what the problems were was very helpful.  The entire family is now well versed in dog handling.

I wish you all the best and would recommend you to any future clients.

Sincerely,

Clay and Sydney Harrison"

"I first learned about Adelita through my Vet, Dr. Martin at the Parkview Pet Clinic in Glendale.  Dr. Martin had also used Adelita's services for his own dog and spoke highly of her.

I have a young male Boxer who we adopted from a rescue organization last year.   Hunter had obviously been through some pretty rough times before he came to live with us and he had a philosophy of  "I'll get you before you can get me".  In addition to needing basic obedience training he was very aggressive with other dogs and with strangers.  Adelita came in and gently won him over.  Even though Hunter tried more than once to intimidate her, Adelita remained calm, persistent and in control.

She seemed to understand the fears this dog has and reassured him that he was doing fine and that he was safe with her.  Adelita is gentle but firm with dogs.  By the end of our lessons we were able to walk on busy sidewalks without fear of incidents and Hunter seemed genuinely glad to see her.

We had signed up for private lessons but I know Adelita also teaches group classes.  She arrives on time and keeps her commitments on the training schedule.  I'm glad I found her.

Sincerely,

Pat and Hunter"
