What is the importance of a daily dog schedule?

This includes when to feed it, how to control its bathroom schedule, when to take walk, and when is the best time to play.

Just like people, dogs have a schedule for each day of their lives. Here is a typical schedule for a dog:

7:00 am        They wake up
7:30               Eat breakfast
7:35               Play
8:00              Take a walk
8:30               Sleep
9:30               Go to “work”: Go with you on a short trip.
10:00             Sleep/play
12:00pm       Eat lunch, a snack or treat
12:30             Play
1:30               Sleep
4:30               Play
6:00               Eat dinner
7:00               Take a walk
7:30               Play
8:30               Sleep

When you put a dog onto a schedule it develops a sense of stability and predictability because they have an understanding of when they get fed, take a walk and so forth. Sometimes they are very helpful in reminding you that they haven’t been fed yet or that their leash is hanging right here (pointing with their nose) and that if you want to go on a walk they are ready!

You are also able to better predict when they need to use the bathroom. This is valuable information if you have a little puppy you are potty training. They will instinctively develop a sense of using the bathroom outside at certain times and eventually can control their bladder until they make outside to their “spot”.

Or if you are going to be away for a long period and need to predict when it will need to be let out to go to the bathroom.
