In-Home Dog Training and Group Lessons:

The first question is, what are your goals?

Intensive training is very effective in getting fast, proven results.  Both owner and dog interact with the trainer.

If your pup needs potty training, jumping and nipping issues, learning how to properly walk on a leash or a good foundation to learn to Focus and listen to you in the first place, I typically can get that done between 1 and 3 lessons.

But again, what are your goals?

The amount of lessons needed would be determined with an initial evaluation (or upon working with your dog on a first lesson) at which point I could see how the dog responds to me and other things in the environment, you could explain in depth the situations you need to have handled with your dog and I give helpful advice on immediate issues you may be having.

Call me now at (818) 559-5482 to schedule an appointment.

Sometimes it is determined that you will only need one lesson and then a follow-up lesson the next week.  But training for at least 5 consecutive days in a single week - one hour or more per lesson - can help your dog go even further than your expectations.

The dog training I deliver includes: Crate training, Greeting people and other dogs correctly, Wait at doors (home or car), stationing. On-leash obedience around distractions = Loose Leash walking, heel, sit, sit-stay, down, down-stay, Come from a down-stay, Down-stay in motion. Puppy problem solving (deter jumping, nipping, chewing).

Group lessons help to socialize your dog.  I like to start this activity once your dog has a foundation built first with Focus, Sit and being able to properly walk on a leash.  This helps you to have better control in a group setting.

  • Also includes assisting on deterring/resolving adult problems. Your dog must be evaluated to determine if the problems can be resolved with this program.
  • Written notes for Owner/handler to practice with dog between lessons.
  • Socialization includes taking dog to various places such as park, store front or requested areas.
  • Training lessons for Owner/Handler and the family if needed.
